The Archdiocese of Dublin recently has admitted to abusing children and covering it up. Until a few years ago, Irish law did not permit divorce, meaning that an Irish woman who as married to a wife-beating drunk who slept with prostitutes simply had to tough it out and submit to him whenvever he demanded it. The English did their best to try to civilize these barbarians and terrorists, but it was not successful, and I doubt that anyone could be. It is high time that the rest of the world stopped being taken in by the rolling eyes and cutesy brogue and recognize the Irish for the depraved criminals they are. Blasphemy. Indeed.
